This arrangement is intended to enable smaller orchestras to include highlights from the world of opera in their programs. Engelbert Humperdinck's masterpiece was premiered shortly before Christmas 1893. Alongside the beautiful overture, three well-known folk songs are also included in the opera, including Suse, liebe Suse and Ein Männlein steht im Walde. This arrangement can be variably scored as a Flex-6v-tett and can therefore also be used on days when the orchestra is less well-staffed. In this case, the cue notes must always be played. For larger orchestras, this edition can also be an enrichment for the daily repertoire. The cue notes are then not played and an instrumentation is automatically played that will allow the many colors of the wind orchestra to fully develop.
