David Luidold \u2013 soloist: Bernhard Kury (Staatskapelle Dresden).<br>\nThe aim of the arrangement is to approximate the sound character of the string orchestra as closely as possible. Due to the given line-up (symphonic wind orchestra), the string parts had to be replaced by clarinets and saxophones; the original wind parts (oboes and horn) remained unchanged. The instruments available in the wind orchestra (flugelhorns, tenor horn\/baritone and tuba, etc.) were incorporated as \u201csupport\u201d for the sound basis. Musical additions to the orchestral arrangement that do not correspond to the \u201coriginal musical text\u201d are justified by the fact that the attempt to approximate the \u201csound richness\u201d of a string orchestra made specific additions necessary.
