He composes and arranges for the Graz Opera and for national and international festivals; renowned soloists and orchestras have premiered and continue to premiere his compositions, and have performed and continue to perform his arrangements. Trombonist
<\/b><\/h2>

Siegmund Andraschek studied trombone (concert subject and IGP) in Vienna and Graz. Master classes with Christian Lindberg, substitute work at the RSO Vienna, Vienna Volksoper, stage orchestra of the Vienna State Opera, Graz Philharmonic. Participation in: among others, Ensemble Kontrapunkte, Ensemble Online, Ensemble Szene instrumental. Member of the Vienna Operetta Orchestra (since 1992) and recreation Graz Grand Orchestra (2003\u20132008). This phase shaped his understanding of professional orchestral collaboration in many facets and subsequently his approach to sound development and sound blending emanating from the orchestra.<\/p>

Pedagogue
<\/b><\/h2>

Siegmund Andraschek has been teaching at the grassroots level for over 15 years, including at the Music School St. Stefan in Rosental and at Admont Abbey Grammar School in the subjects: brass instruments, piano, ensembles, youth brass orchestra, big band, basic course for brass orchestra conducting. This phase particularly shapes his understanding of developmental and skill levels. His approach to music education and the creation of teaching materials have gained recognition beyond borders. For the brass music field, numerous music education projects (with recordings) have been created together with illustrator Rupert H\u00f6rbst, among others.<\/p>

Composer & Arranger<\/b><\/h2>

<\/b>Siegmund Andraschek has been arranging sporadically for various ensembles since 1993, and from 2001 onwards he has devoted increasingly more time to this activity. At the beginning of his work as a composer are composition commissions for brass bands, and he signs his first publishing contract in 2005 for the required piece \"Camelot\".\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

His works for wind orchestra have been regularly nominated as mandatory pieces in levels B \u2013 E ever since. His new instrumentations of entire Strauss operettas for pure wind ensemble are premiered by the Vienna Operetta Orchestra as part of the Steyr Music Festival (2014 Die Fledermaus, 2016 Wiener Blut). The O\u00d6 Nachrichten report on this: \"Serafin gave great applause to arranger Andraschek: 'He arranged it in such a way that the music doesn't sound thin at all without strings.' On the contrary, Serafin heard that 'with this accompaniment, the singers are given much more space, which they can use with their voices.'\" In the symphony orchestra genre, already renowned orchestras such as the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of the Vienna Volksoper, the Graz Philharmonic, the Vienna Operetta Orchestra, Covent Garden Soloists Orchestra, Budapest Operette and Musical Orchestra, North Czech Philharmonie Orchestra and others have performed his compositions and\/or his arrangements.<\/p>

Since 2016, he has devoted himself exclusively to activity as a composer and arranger, skillfully switching between different orchestral worlds (symphony orchestra \u2013 wind orchestra) and genres (classical \u2013 pop \u2013 jazz). Inclusion included.<\/p>

Thus, in 2019, OPERA GRAZ commissioned Siegmund Andraschek to compose music for the book \"Valerie and the Good-Night Swing\" by Mira Lobe, followed by \"The Foolish Augustine\" by Otfried Preu\u00dfler (2022) and \"The Flying Sable\" by Franzobel (2024). The latter work has the special feature that a large brass band in the function of the stage orchestra (with acting tasks and choreographies) does not appear as a marginal phenomenon, but functions as an \"equal\" partner with a professional symphony orchestra.<\/p>

The musicalette \"The Unknown Woman\" (Libretto: Prof. Siegfried Andraschek) aims to bring operetta and musical together in one work and will have its world premiere in 2021 in Leibnitz in the \"Old Cinema\". A sound recording with the music is already released in 2018. No longer active as a trombonist himself, the instrument now takes a prominent place in his compositions. Harald Matjaschitz (Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart) records a cross-section of his works on a sound carrier (CD \"Cross Section\"), and for David Luidold (Graz Philharmonic) he composes \"THOR\" \u2013 Concerto for Bass Trombone and Orchestra. For Christoph Moschberger, he composes the Alpine Chameleon Rhapsody for flugelhorn and orchestra in 2025.<\/p>

In 2026, he arranges the operetta \"The Three Musketeers\" by Ralph Benatzky on behalf of the OPER Graz. The Kleine Zeitung reports on this: \"Georg Sch\u00fctzky (director), Stefan Birnhuber (musical direction) and Siegmund Andraschek (musical arrangement) have revived the piece as inclusive musical theater \u2013 and achieved a resounding success.\"<\/p>

2025\/2026: On behalf of the Audi Art Experience, two children's concerts (libretto: Gerlinde Andraschek) premiere in a completely new format as part of the Audi Summer Concerts. Conductor<\/b><\/h2>

Siegmund Andraschek was the musical director (coaching\/conducting) of the Steyr Music Festival from 2017\u20132019 (musicals: West Side Story, Chicago, Cabaret). In 2017, he founded the \"Crossover-Orchestra Vienna\" exclusively for his own projects. Due to his profile in a wide range of areas, he is a sought-after juror and lecturer and accepts invitations as a guest at the following institutions: University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, Conservatory Graz, JSKD Slovenia, Music Academy Staufen (Germany), Austrian Brass Band Association.

Musicology<\/strong><\/h2>

In 2022, he earned his doctorate on the topic \"Robert Stolz. Instrumentation and Arrangement in the Production Process of His Music\". That same year, he collaborates on the museum \"Salon Stolz\" (scientific consultation and musical curation), and his arrangements for the operating audio stations are performed by the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra.<\/p>

Music publisher<\/b><\/h2>

After founding the \"pettermusic\" music publishing house in 2011, he handed over printing and distribution exclusively to HeBu Musikverlag (Germany). Since the relaunch in 2025 and the renaming to Musikverlag Andraschek, he has been running the publishing house himself. All compositions, arrangements and music education projects created since 2011 or not yet published are available at musikverlag.andraschek.at and from its distribution partners. At the same time, his own works that appeared with other publishers are being brought back into his own catalogue wherever possible. Since 2026, Musikverlag Andraschek has also been cooperating with Edition Rex and Astoria Musikverlag, regularly releasing works by Robert Stolz in new arrangements. Most recently, the 20 Flower Songs (Blumenlieder) were republished, for the first time including the composer's own corrections.<\/p>

passion project<\/b><\/h2>

Siegmund Andraschek accompanied (from 2010\u20132022) alongside Wolfgang Jud as a volunteer, successfully supporting the State Youth Brass Orchestra of Styria and the orchestra of the Academy of the State Youth Brass Orchestra of Styria.\n\nFlugelhorn and tenor horn of Austrian design should be preserved as a sound color.
