In cooperation with author and cartoonist Rupert Hörbst and the Upper Austrian Police Band, Dr. Harald Haselmayr, the music education project Chief Inspector Claus was created in 2015. The performance rights for the musical are held exclusively by the Upper Austrian Police Band for an agreed period of time, and since December 2015 they have filled the Oberbank Donau-Forum to the last seat (900 seats).
Parts of the music may be played as part of this project. With the overture The Sound of Christmas I am delighted to be able to offer a Christmas opening piece.
About the music: Starting with a solemn, lyrical melody, the piece gradually turns into an imaginative adventure with the setting of the "Christmas market". Quotations from well-known Christmas carols as well as visitors who have looked a little too deeply into the punch glass have been musically taken into account and processed in this overture. With a duration of just over 4 minutes and a guaranteed bombastic ending, the work is ideal as an opener for a Christmas concert.
