Funny polka by Josef Strauss with the “HA” effect ;).
This arrangement of the quick polka "Ohne Sorgen" op. 271 (1869) was commissioned by the Liezen town band (Kpm. David Luidold, Obm. Michael Fröhlich). The aim was to briefly put the woodwind and brass instruments, but also the percussionists, in the spotlight during the course of the piece, and to deliberately contrast their characters. The main theme of the polka therefore initially moves from "woodwind" to "brass" and can also be heard in the percussion register's mallet instruments, before the main registers reunite at the end to form a full orchestra. In this way, the orchestra presents itself not only at full strength but also in a subtle, understated manner, and the chamber music component is evident over long stretches.
