Arrangement for symphonic wind orchestra and organ
The music taken from the one-act opera Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni (1863-1945) is rightly one of the highlights of classical opera music due to its high intensity and incredibly touching musical message. The Intermezzo Sinfonico can therefore also be heard outside of the opera stage as part of concert programs in the largest concert halls around the world. The aim of this arrangement is to approximate the sound of the symphony orchestra. A performance without organ is optionally possible, but not necessarily recommended. The first performance (of this arrangement) took place on January 6, 2019 in the Stefaniensaal in Graz with the Styrian State Youth Wind Orchestra.
